Other exciting destinations include Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, the Florida Keys including Key West, and a special visit to the Dry Tortugas National Park. Banding demonstrations and little known hotspots will also be part of this fantastic trip.
Some target species: Raptors galore! Migrants, vagrants, exotics, pelagics, and Florida specialties. Short-tailed Hawk, Snail Kite, Brown and Masked Booby, Magnificent Frigatebird, White-crowned Pigeon, Limpkin, and Roseate Spoonbill
We will take time to not only observe raptors and other birds, but to also learn about the local natural history, conservation and management efforts and to appreciate the unique wildlife diversity of each location. This will be an active birding tour with a moderate amount of walking, but the pace will be slow enough for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike.
This tour will feature novelty for both the experienced and beginning birder.
