HMANA’s Lunch & Learn Series – Raptor Population Index

January’s Lunch & Learn in 2022 featured Dr. Dave Oleyar from Hawkwatch International with a presentation about the Raptor Population Index (RPI). RPI is a collaborative effort to understand and share trends & conservation status of migratory raptors in North America, continent-wide and regionally. The 2019 analysis and what the collaborative group has learned from nearly 9 million raptors counted over 40,000 hours of migration monitoring across 73 sites will be shared.
Dr. Dave Oleyar is the Director of Long-term Monitoring and Community Science at HawkWatch International. In this Lunch & Learn, Dave shared the most recent findings from this partnership between HMANA, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Birds Canada, and HawkWatch International and where the team is going in the future.
